MetrO 5.4.8

The new version (5.4.8) of MetrO is out, with many changes on the city networks and additional compatibility with Windows CE 5.0 (other than PocketPC, mostly for recent "Personal Navigation Devices").

Our old i-MetrO server (at netarray.com) is agonizing and I think it's time to pull the plug after more than 6 monthes on our new server... For those who are still using it, please update your bookmarks for our web, i-mode & wap services. See our web page for the valid addresses.

The old MetrO update services will be turned off has well: if you have an old version of MetrUp (for PalmOS) or of MetrO for Windows Mobile & Symbian, please download a more recent version (release 5.4.8 is almost there) if you want to take advantage of these services.

Paris (bus)

It appears the RATP is preparing a major update in Paris (France): starting tomorrow, a dozen bus lines will have their service extended in the evening and on Sunday. I also noticed other such changes (on fewer lines) have occured recently.

I write "it appears" because the RATP web site is completely silent about this and the only information available is coming from third parties...

Helsinki

A new station has opened in the Helsinki (Finland) metro.
I also checked the tram lines and fixed some errors but it would be helpful if someone there could check the railway and bus lines as well...

San Francisco

A new light rail line will start operating on January 13 in San Francisco (USA). Until April, the Muni T-Third will run only on week-ends and will be free on the new stretch it operates, south of 4th & King.

Besides the new stop on the Orange Line (see last Sunday news), E.P. Scott reports other changes in Los Angeles (USA), starting with a new Metro Rapid Bus line (#741).
