An error report from the Apple App Store has led me to discover a bug on one route description in our file for Manchester (UK).

Berlin

M. Ciesielski sent an update for Berlin (Germany), preparing the opening of a new subway section - U55, due on August 8th - and the change of the station name "Unter den Linden" to "Brandenburger Tor".

Prague

F. Kadlec sent an update for some tram routes in Prague (Czech Republic) as well as an additional ferry line.

MetrO for iPhone - Update

MetrO for iPhone (iTunes)Despite a month-long period of beta test, some bugs have surfaced in MetrO for the iPhone.

I have just posted an update - version 0.9.1 - to the App Store, with the following changes:

  • Crash on opening some cities (e.g. Leuven) - fixed
  • Some stop names not properly recognized - fixed
  • Line groups activation status not restored on startup - fixed
  • New preference to choose the maximum distance to look for stops around "my location"
  • Other minor improvements

I just hope the approval process will not take as long as for the initial submission. In the meantime, my apologies to those who experienced the bugs and thanks to Jérôme, Dries and Evan for reporting the bugs!

MetrO now on the AppStore

MetrO for iPhone (iTunes)Today, I am delighted to announce that MetrO is finally available on the Apple App Store!

You may download it on your desktop PC, through iTunes, or directly on your iPhone or iPod Touch (search for "Kinevia" in the App Store).

I also changed our dedicated page on our web site to include a few tips on how to make the best of the application.

This first release - numbered 0.9.0 - still lacks a few features and I have ideas to make it better (some of them being suggested by our beta users). Keep in touch for future updates!

Because of long-term works on line F in New York (USA), line G is permanently extended to Church Av, for several years. As such, the change will be included in our "regular" database for the city.

Tomorrow, a new metro line segment - with 12 new stations - will officially open in Taipei (Taiwan).

RATPThis week-end in Paris (France), RER C service to/from Versailles Rive Gauche and Saint Quentin en Yvelines will be suspended. In addition, line 13 is replaced by a bus service between Porte de Clichy and Asnières-Gennevilliers on Sunday to Thursday evenings.
