Paris (works)

Slightly earlier than originally planned, station "Liberté" (on subway line 8) in Paris (France) has reopened this morning. In addition, the week-end disruptions that affected the RER D and E have ended as well.

Services on the Orlyval will end at 22:00 (instead of 23:00) on Thursday (and on Tuesday and Wednesday next week).

MetrO 6.0.1

MetrO
A new release of the MetrO application for PalmOS, Windows Mobile and Symbian is now available. This version 6.0.1 adds 1 new city (La Rochelle, France) and changes on many more.

Check the details here and download the new version from our home page.

Please note that the program for PalmOS and Windows Mobile will probably not evolve anymore. However, we will keep on delivering the full packages from time to time to provide convenient access to the city files.

Calgary

Next Monday, an extension will open on the CTrain (light rail) route in Calgary (Canada). It also gave me an opportunity to refresh our (old) database, which still contains only the CTrain system, though.

BVG
The disruptions that affected subway line U8 (at Leinestraße) and tram line 21 in Berlin (Germany) have ended this morning.

Starting today, the U5 is replaced by a bus service between Hönow and Louis-Lewin-Straße and the U8 runs a shuttle service between Heinrich-Heine-Straße and Kottbusser Tor on Sunday to Thursday nights.

A tram route (16) in Poznan (Poland) has been extended recently and it gave me an opportunity to refresh the entire tram system in our database.

However, I did not check the bus routes, which are likey out of date after 8 years without an update. This cannot be done without your help!

A new metro line (M4) has opened yesterday in Istanbul (Turkey), the first one on the Asian side of the city.

MTA New York The "Knickerbocker Av" station on subway line M in New York (USA) is now closed for several months.

Paris

RATP
The RATP, the public transportation authority in Paris (France), has finally decided to open some of its data to app developers, with a first batch released this week. However, the effort is still very limited and the only information I could take advantage of are the route colors, but only for the rail system (buses are not part of the deal).

Let's hope we will get more data in the future, but, in the meantime, you will be glad to know that the colors displayed for the Paris subway and tram lines in MetrO are the official ones!
